EPSON I3200U UV Ink Digital Printer

Epson’s 3,200-nozzle i3200 head in its UV configuration photographic detail with instant LED curing on plastic glass wood metal acrylic and every surface water based ink can’t touch.

Description

EPSON I3200U UV Ink Digital Printer

The EPSON I3200 U configuration brings the industry’s benchmark piezo print head into RobotJet Global’s UV printing platform. Where our water based machines rely on ink absorbing into paper the I3200U jets UV curable ink that solidifies the instant it passes under LED lamps bonding scratch resistant weatherproof, vividly saturated prints onto non absorbent surfaces.

One machine one file to print workflow, and a substrate range that covers most of modern product decoration and industrial packaging by industrial digital printer: if your material doesn’t absorb ink this is the head configuration that prints on it anyway beautifully.

Technical Specifications

The Same Legendary Head Tuned for UV Chemistry

Epson’s i3200 platform dominates industrial inkjet for a reason: 3200 nozzles in four staggered rows, thinfilm piezo elements firing variable-size droplets, and dot placement accuracy that renders gradients without banding and text without ragged edges.

The U variant takes that architecture and re-engineers it for UV curable ink a fundamentally different chemistry than water-based. UV ink is more viscous, contains photoinitiators, and must never cure inside the head. The epson i3200 U1’s internal channels, nozzle plate, and firing waveforms are all tuned for exactly this ink class, which is why it jets UV chemistry reliably where general-purpose heads clog and fail.

Variable dot in UV means something special: fine droplets build smooth gradients and photographic detail, while larger droplets lay down the dense, opaque coverage UV applications demand including white ink underbase on dark or transparent materials, where opacity makes or breaks the final result.

Why Instant LED Curing Changes Everything

Traditional printing on plastic or metal means solvents, drying time and adhesion gambles. UV LED curing replaces all of it:

Cured in milliseconds. Ink solidifies the moment it passes under the LED lamp no drying racks, no dust settling into wet ink, no smudged stacks. Parts come off the machine ready to pack.

Cold cure protects materials. LED lamps run cool, unlike old mercury systems so thin plastics films and heat-sensitive components print without warping. Energy consumption drops dramatically too.

Mechanical durability. Cured UV ink forms a hard, cross linked layer that resists scratching, moisture and outdoor exposure the difference between decoration that survives shipping and shelf life versus printing that rubs off in transit.

What Can the I3200U Print On?

Everything absorption-based printing can’t: acrylic sheets and displays, plastic packaging PVC and rigid films, glass bottles and panels, coated and laminated cartons metal signage and components, aluminum panels, wood and MDF products, leather goods, ceramic surfaces, promotional products pens, cases, giftware and industrial parts requiring permanent marking.

For absorbent paper packaging plain corrugated, kraft bags, tissue our water based ink digital printer range is the more economical match; during consultation we’ll direct you to whichever chemistry genuinely fits your materials.

Applications Earning Money Right Now

Product decoration. Manufacturers print branding, artwork, and variable designs directly onto products eliminating labels, films, and outsourced decoration entirely.

Premium rigid packaging. Coated boxes, tins, and specialty containers that water based ink cannot wet out printed with full color artwork plus white underbase for opacity on dark stock.

Signage and display. Short-run acrylic, foam board, and metal signage with photographic quality, produced same day.

Personalization businesses. Phone cases, giftware, awards, and corporate merchandise high margin custom work where the i3200U’s detail quality justifies premium pricing.

Industrial marking. Serial numbers compliance information, and QR codes printed permanently on components, inline with production.

Inside the RobotJet UV Platform

The I3200U configuration ships as a complete production system: precision material transport with vacuum hold down, automatic height adjustment for varied substrate thicknesses, integrated LED curing tuned to ink and speed, continuous ink circulation (essential for white UV ink, which settles without agitation) and negative pressure ink supply for stable jetting.

The control electronics and RIP software are RobotJet’s own the in house technology foundation we’ve built since 2015. Every feature ships unlocked: ICC color management, white ink channel control, variable data, and lifetime software updates without license fees.

Choosing Within the RobotJet Global UV Range

Choose the EPSON I3200U if detail and gradient quality on non absorbent surfaces is the priority premium product decoration and photographic UV work.

Choose the [RICOH GEN5] if you run harsh continuous industrial duty and value the longest possible head service life over peak resolution.

Choose the [RICOH GEN6] if you want Ricoh durability plus finer 5-picoliter droplets and higher firing frequency the modern industrial sweet spot.

Send us your material and artwork we print samples on the configurations that fit and let the physical results guide your decision.

Proof Before Payment, Beijing Engineering Behind It

RobotJet’s process protects UV buyers especially, because adhesion varies by material: we print your artwork on your actual substrates and ship the samples scratch test them yourself then run live video acceptance testing of your machine before shipment. Backed by a 2-year warranty, itemized FOB pricing, and free lifetime support from the Beijing team that designs and builds every machine. Frequently Asked Questions

What is the EPSON I3200 U printer used for? It’s a UV ink digital printer for non absorbent surfaces plastic glass metal wood acrylic and coated materials printing scratch resistant full color designs with instant LED curing. Ideal for product decoration, rigid packaging, signage, and industrial marking.

What’s the difference between the Epson i3200 U and i3200A? Identical 3200 nozzle architecture different ink engineering: the U variant jets UV curable ink for non-absorbent surfaces; the [i3200A] jets water based ink for absorbent paper packaging.

Does it print white ink? Yes white is available as an underbase or spot channel, with continuous circulation to keep white pigment in suspension. White underbase is what makes colors pop on dark, transparent, and metallic materials.

Will the print scratch off? No. LED cured UV ink cross links into a hard, durable layer with strong adhesion resistant to scratching, moisture, and outdoor exposure. We encourage you to scratch-test our printed samples yourself.

Can it print on curved or thick objects? The platform accommodates substrate thickness via automatic height adjustment; gently curved and irregular surfaces are handled within head gap limits. Tell us your product dimensions and we’ll confirm feasibility with a printed sample.

What maintenance does UV printing need? Daily nozzle checks, capping station cleaning and keeping white ink circulating all covered in our operator training. LED lamps last for years, and i3200 heads are field replaceable with stock shipped from Beijing.
